Prepackaged roast beef kits for your crock-pot? I never have but I got one and its all rinsed off and in the frig in crock pot.. All I got to do is heat up some French's onion soup mix in about a cup of water and pour it all over everything in the morning. Comes with the meat, potatoes, celery, carrots, seasoning packet and onion. I got a cabbage and cut 3 slices off and put over everything.
Guessing this is what it will look like when done cooking.

looks good, but putting together a beef roast in a slow cooker (crock pot... instant pot) is a total no brainer.
I have an instant pot. I like it better than crock pot cuz you can brown meat first. if you don't want to deal with prepping veggies, buy a bag or 2 of frozen veggies... big pieces for stew, etc.
I always have dry, onion soup mix on hand to add to something like this.

Never tried one of those, sandman. Looks like it will be delicious when done. I have used McCormick Slow Cooker Savory Pot Roast Seasoning Mix when cooking beef, carrots, celery, onions, and potatoes in the crock pot. |

I just use salt, pepper, garlic, onion powder, allspice, and a few low sodium beef gravy packets to season my roasts.

Having the leftovers for my dinner tonight. Its convenient to buy pre-packaged like that. If you don't have all the stuff you need its all right there in the package. But I will still make it like before. That way you can add as much or as little as you want to the slow-cooker.
I will look for that McCormick Slow Cooker Savory Pot Roast Seasoning Mix and give it a try.
