campbell's originated in Camden, NJ. I can remember (as a kid) getting stuck behind a dump truck mounted high with tomatoes. a bump in the road would send 1-2 bouncing out to splat on the road in front of us. that truck was BLEEDING tomatoes! Dad mentioned it was probably heading to Campbell's to become soup... or ketchup. he also threw in that he doubted they picked out the squished/rotten/wormy ones before starting to cook.
I always have a few cans of cream of mushroom/something on the shelf. not gourmet but a great starter for a lot of dishes. and almost zero resemblance to actual mushrooms.
