Had Chili at a restaurant once and when the good Chili was gone I ate the bowl. They served the Chili in a bread bowl. The bowl was very good cause some of the Chili soaked into the bowl. It looked something like this.

Be easy to do at home. I'm going to try it next time we have chili. Get some of those round loafs of bread they sell at some grocery store deli's. Cut the top off and then carve into a bowl. Pour in your chili.
I'm going to take some soft butter and spread it inside the bowl before I put the chili in it.

America feels that it needs to eat bread with every meal, but you don't! 😉

a little OT. when i was still in HS, would make my Dad's lunch until he retired. he always wanted butter on the bread, no matter what kind of sandwich. the butter kinda waterproofed the bread a bit so it wouldn't get soggy... from condiments. |

If I don't have cornbread with my chili I always have bread and butter with it anyway. For those who also like cornbread with chili here's a great idea also. Instead of chili in a bread bowl why not have it in a cornbread bowl.
