i'm fairly adventurous when it comes to food... especially trying things. i don't understand people who claim to "hate" something yet have never even tasted it. that makes zero sense.
i'm not terrible brand loyal, but do have strong preferences for certain foods.
a lot of things weren't in my house as a kid and once i discovered them, i was hooked.
canned tuna... solid, light in olive oil.
good, extra virgin olive oil. real maple syrup. was introduced to Golden Syrup by Langstratt (RIP) and love it.
real mayonnaise... very rarely miracle whip.
real butter.
have tried and failed to like liver, except for a nice pate or whatever they call chicken livers wrapped in bacon.
have tried oysters every which way but loose with no luck.
wish i liked sardines (in mustard) but they're just TOOOO fishy for me.
i can't think of a veggie i don't like.

I'm a foodie. I don't do fast food and rarely eat out. I cook.
I do not like liver from any animal and yes I have tasted it. That and brains are probably the only things that are a hard no.
I love Escargot, venison, bison, frog legs, oysters and everything in between.

@justbec , i remember my dad bringing home some bear meat from a co-worker/hunter. it was ground. think we made meatloaf or meatballs out of it. not different enough from beef to be memorable to me. first venison was when i was in college. was asked to stay for dinner at a friend's house. her dad was a hunter. was asked how i liked mine cooked... ?? said i liked my steaks medium rare. think i got treated to some of the tenderloin, cuz it was delicious... like filet mignon. i can get bison (ground) in shoprite on a fairly regular basis.
also a big fan of escargot. swimming in a nice butter/garlic sauce. frog legs are fine, but not something i ever crave.
would like to try rattle snake... as long as not coiled up on a platter. had alligator at a native American festival and it was so tough i actually took it back.
i don't like "fishy" fish. love shrimp & lobster. crab is a LOT of work, but i make a mean crabcake.

Most people hate it or won't even try it. But liver smothered in onions is great. The more sauteed onions the better.

my grandmother would make it occasionally. it always looked and smelled good. it was a texture thing for me. like some food items... maybe i just haven't had it cooked "right"?

I remember beef liver being one of those foods that I seriously did not want to eat as a kid but my mom made me every now and then. I like chicken livers fried in flower salt and garlic once in a while when mom makes them. She loves them! 😄
As far as beef liver goes, not a big fan but I have to admit that one time when I was drunk and hungry my aunt Bev fried up some in bacon grease and it was pretty damn good! .. as far as drunken liver goes anyways. 😂

"are you a foodie?"
If liking to eat and cook makes someone a foodie then I am definitely a foodie.
