1lb ground beef 2 cups pasta sauce 2 cups ricotta cheese 1 large egg 2 cups shredded mozzarella 1/2 cup shredded parmesan 1 tsp onion powder, basil, oregano and salt 9 lasagna noodles Directions Brown beef with salt, onion powder, basil and oregano and drain. Mix egg and Ricotta cheese until well blended. Spread a thin layer of sauce on the bottom of dish Lay three (uncooked)noodles in the pan, followed by a layer of sauce, a layer of the beef, thin layer of ricotta (or thick depending on how you like it) and a layer of Mozzarella. Repeat with another layer of each finishing with a layer of uncooked noodles. Cover noodles with sauce, mozzarella and Parmesan. Bake uncovered at 350 for 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly. If the cheese starts to get too cooked cover with foil.

If I had a deeper pan I could even make another layer. Although, when I made mine last week it turned out awesome!

Lasagna was a holiday dish I made once or twice a year for many decades. I used both ground beef and cut up Italian sausage in mine.

I love to make it, it is so easy. And yes I have used sausage in place of ground beef and or with it. I've also used a meatball mix of ground beef, veal and pork. SafeInSanity, I used to make a huge tray of it but now since there are just the two of us I have downsized.
